My name is Katie and I am a Home from Hospital Wellbeing Co-ordinator. I also co-ordinate the Bovey Moor Social on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month. I grew up in Bovey Tracey which makes working with people in and around the town so special to me. I always had a keen interest in Science whilst growing up, so after college I went on to study Forensic Science at University. Whilst studying, I worked for a personal alarm company, taking calls from people who had pressed their emergency buttons. I thoroughly enjoyed this role and this is where I developed my passion for working within Health and Social Care; I have been working in this sector ever since.
After completing my Degree I worked for the NHS, co-ordinating the Rapid Response Service and then went on to a role where I gave information, support and guidance to older people and their families.
I love working at Moorland Community Caring and thrive on forming such great connections with my clients, supporting them to improve their wellbeing.
Away from work I enjoy spending time with my two young children who keep me very busy! I enjoy playing netball and swimming.
