Moorland welcomes new Manager

Handing over the reins!

On 1st April 2025, Rachel Bastyan became the new Manager of Moorland Community Caring. Outgoing Manager, Jayne Edwards says, “Handing over the reins to such a talented, creative and lovely person is such a joy. The Charity is in a good place, but with so many funding pressures, it needs to constantly adapt and focus on the future. Rachel will take the Charity to new heights, I am sure.

Thinking of the many patients, clients and families that I have supported during their end of life or dementia journey makes me so proud of Moorland and of them. Our Volunteers are wonderful and no thank you will ever match their gift of time and love for the Charity and the people that they support.

There have been both sad and funny moments, but threaded throughout is the community connection that Moorland provides and people embrace. Thank you to all those who support Moorland and those that have supported me – too many to mention. I leave with a suitcase of memories, knowing the Charity is in safe, professional and capable hands.

Good luck Rachel – you are going to be brilliant.”

Rachel Bastyan says “I want to thank Jayne for her years of dedication and care that she has given to Moorland, and the many people that she has supported. I am deeply honoured to accept this incredible opportunity as Manager at Moorland; it is such a beautiful Charity that makes such a difference to the lives of those who are part of it.

I am excited for my future at Moorland and will always strive my very hardest to do my best by it, endeavouring to protect its values whilst ensuring I encourage its growth with passion and diligence.”
